RESPECT
THE ARETHA FRANKLIN STORY
Aretha Franklin – The undisputed Queen Of Soul, multiple Grammy winner and first woman in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, died after a life full of ups and downs on August 16, 2018 in Detroit.
RESPECT - The Aretha Franklin Story, the new show from the well-known Sweet Soul Music series presents the most important stages of her career and gives a representative cross-section of her more than 50 years of musical work in an evening-long and extremely entertaining show with video recordings and a high biographical and musical standard.
Not only the biggest hits of the international charts such as I Never Loved A Man, Respect, Chain Of Fools, Natural Woman, Think, I Say A Little Prayer, Don't Play That Song, Spanish Harlem, Rock Steady, Until You Come Back To Me, Angel and Ain't No Way are interpreted by the top-class lead and backing vocals Darnita Rogers, Noreda Graves, Donniele Graves, April 'Journi' Cook, Menoosha Susunghi, Lisa Benjamin and Flore M in the best tribute style with their own expressiveness and performance power. Aretha's lesser-known soul and gospel pearls (including Border Song) and her successful duets with other well-known stars such as I Know You Were Waiting (with George Michael), Sisters Are Doin' It For Themselves (with The Eurythmics) plus some of her many cover versions of well-known hits such as Bridge Over Troubled Water are also presented.
A ten-piece band (drums, percussion, bass, guitar, keyboard, Hamond organ, trumpet, alto saxophones, tenor saxophones, baritone saxophones) guarantee the authentic sound of the time.
And all this in respect and deep bow to the immortal queen of soul.
